country was formed and how we lived. We were not all fundamentalists and prudes. It took a great deal of strength to persevere under those types of harsh circumstances. We are strong and we will persevere under the harsh circumstances we find ourselves in today. In the 50's the westerns were sanitized to stay within the guidelines of the motion picture codes. We carry some of those stereotypes with us to and erroneously use those prior efforts as some sort of comparative yardstick. Deadwood is a remarkable achievement. Ian Shane is an absolute wonder and Drudge is well...not worthy of being discussed in the same breath.
