I wonder if the incidence of official cover-ups is also the same in other religions.

Do Protestants also shuffle child-molesters from one church to another? That isn't a snarky question, I'm really curious. I've heard of ministers losing their congregation when adultery or child abuse were discovered, but I can't recall any cases of wide-spread institutional protection of the abusers and a strong bureaucratic resistance to removing abusers from ministry.

My impression is also that Protestants don't accord ministers with the same degree of abject and unquestioning obedience that is common in Catholic parishes, and that makes predation on children so easy and such a betrayal of trust.
