I guess it's all personal perception, but my interpretation of the ad is that the man is conveying that a good Christian is someone who doesn't go around defining and judging other people and putting controls on their lives according to what she or he believes a good Christian is.

The mention of the filibuster does throw a curve because they fail to tie in that it's the politicians who are using religion as a political bullwhip in attempting to push through the elimination of the filibuster.

I want someone to do a movie called, "Jesus and Mr. Smith go to Washington."
