Put down that large fantasy fiction book you're reading little Johnny! Either read the Bible or play a video game. No reading for fun for you! No thinking and imagination for you!

I know the fundie crusade against Harry Potter is nothing new, but it still infuriates me every time I hear of it. Plus, I thought this was something that was fueled by devout Protestant denominations (Southern Baptists), not Catholics.

Anyone who knows anything about Wicca knows that the Harry Potter books are *not* Wiccan - which isn't evil by any means anyway. They're about fantasy, about magic, about good vs. evil.

Call me crazy, but I think kids today need more fantasy and magic in their lives sparking creativity and escape in this insane culture and NCLB pressure.
