The Peak Oil argument actually helps them, by justifying their price gouging, drilling, environmental damaging, and their wars to control the resources. And they don't want to control them to make the resources flow freely. They want to keep us dependent, while dripping the resources out in a way that allows them to charge the maximum amount possible. The Peak Oil argument actually justifies them in doing this. What's next, Peak Coal? The Coal Industry would like that.
