until we "get it" here...what hope is there is "getting it" elsewhere? denial is the glue that holds it ALL in place...or things fall apart. we have much practice in denial here...in concepts of privilege and superiority and hegemony. not surprising we accept that as natural elsewhere. as you have mentioned several times, america has never done the internal work that germany and other countries did. instead...we prefer to keep swinging back and forth...doling out rights and privileges to our own citizens, only after much struggle and much bloodshed. we have never learned here, much less any place else in the world.
