1. The country hasn't moved to the right. If you look at the
numbers, only 18% of eligible voters voted for Bush. Also, 18% vote for Gore. The rest stayed home and watched Survivor.

The right wing for the last 20 years or more has had think tanks, goals, metting, and ideas put forth and acted upon. It's hard to go anywhere when you have no directions. Everywhere you hear the complaint about the Democrats is that they have nothing to say. They want health care, but have no plan how to get it. They want the economy to get better, but have no plan to get it better. The last election showed how little the Democrats had a plan for anything. Their plan was to support Bush and then run against his demands! Not a good plan.

So these 18% right wing nuts have the media, have the machine, have the plan. If no one else ever comes up with a plan, we're doomed. That might get the other 64% who are watching Survivor to get up and see what is going on. Maybe if the electricity goes out and they ca't watch TV they would get involved.

I think Michael Moore said this - Democracy is not a spectator sport. If we loose it, we did it to ourselves.
