15. I now live just west of PHilly
so I haven't followed this incredibly closely but I'd hate to see the city fall into republican hands. The takeover of the Parking Authority has been a nightmare and rampant nepotism would spread to other agencies as well, I'm sure.

Street is a dem but he really came down on the wrong side after the predatory lending scandal broke a few years ago. He seemed to want to allow predatory lenders to continue to prey on the poor, low-income and mostly minority elderly people by saying it would chase legitimate lenders away from the city. Hogwash. He didn't dare veto the bill that city council passed unanimously, IIRC, only because it would have been political suicide. As councilman he opposed Domestic Partner legislation but also seemed to change his mind when he saw it would affect his mayoral aspirations.

And the stadium scan was unconscionable.


I think the dem base will largely remain faithful but Katz is talking about cutting city wage tax which might boost his turnout on election day.
