1) I switched from State Farm to Progressive 2) I got the DNC Providian credit card with the cash back to the DNC. I pay my Progressive bill with my DNC card. State Farm is a good insurance company but it made way more donations to the R's than the D's .... I have a extremely good credit rating so the Progressive insurance cost was a wash, lower on the one old 89 Ciera I had and higher on the motorcycle. This past summer I got a brand new car after 15 years with the 89 ciera. I still keep the old one and use it for the drive to work. The price of the full coverage on the new car was lower than I expected. The old car is about $400 per 6 months, the new is about $600 per 6 months.
