And I did not question his sincerity about being a Democrat, and never said anything about his lifestyle or wealth.

I implied that he wasn't true to his words ... Jon said (and I believe it was true), that they are "partisan hacks" and who "have a responsibility to the public discourse" but "fail miserably." And James couldn't admit that - sort of like most politicians and really that is what he was.

But when you try to portray yourself as a journalist, you have to take a less partisan view - unless you want all journalists to impose their views on you (does Judy Miller ring a bell?).
