CNN's Faith & Values Correspondent - WTF?
Advertisements [?]
I did not realize this happened way back in September. The Daily Show, just last night was the first I'd heard of it. Now watch the rest of the MSM copycats follow suit. Having Fawell, Dobson, Graham, as the only "regular" guests representing "religion in America" isn't enough.

Thank God, for This Week In God.

Gallagher Hired On as Faith and Values Correspondent
Source: CNN Press Release Delia Gallagher, a long-time Vatican analyst for CNN and a leading journalist on religious issues, will join CNN full time as its faith and values correspondent, it was announced today by Jon Klein, president of CNN/U.S.

“I’m excited about the challenge to expand my reporting of religion across a multitude of faiths,” Gallagher said. “We recognize how influential American’s beliefs and values can be in business and politics and that journalists often ignore that fact. I hope my reports help fill the void.”

Drawing from her extensive experience covering the Vatican and religions around the world, Gallagher will provide reports and analysis for the network on a wide range of topics involving faith, religion and values in the lives of Americans. Gallagher, who will be based in New York City, started Tuesday, Sept. 6, providing reports of a Catholic diocese in Louisiana helping schoolchildren displaced after Hurricane Katrina.

“Delia’s contributions about religion and religious leaders, particularly during the death and funeral of Pope John Paul II, stood out for their intelligence, sensitivity and depth,” Klein said. “Her hire as a full-time correspondent represents a major commitment by CNN to covering the religious revival in the United States, where tens of millions of people cite faith as a central part of their lives.”

As the faith and values correspondent, Gallagher will examine significant news stories through a religious perspective, including the Supreme Court confirmation hearing for John Roberts.
