How Rush will save himself

This is what I think will happen (some others may have said the same thing, but I haven't seen them):

He'll go into the rehab program. When he comes back out, he'll say that he "rediscovered and recommitted himself to God."

A page out of Junior's booze mea culpa. I wouldn't be surprised if he even goes to the same rehab center. His audience, looking for any reason to forgive him, will gladly glom on to this. His first few shows will be about how he gave himself to Jesus, include a long oratory about the 'truth' in his 'talent on loan from God' shtick, etc. The average Dittohead will find it a bit boring, all this religion stuff, but his fundie listeners will eat it up. His audience demos may shift a little, he may even lose some listeners (who'll just change to Hannity or Savage), but on balance he won't be hurt that much. The 'liberal' media is already setting up the soft cushion for him to land on.

Eventually, he'll be back to his old, demagogic self, albeit with more of a religious bent.
