2. Yes that article gives clearest motive I've seen

on why Bush would hate Wilson. Ultimately most things are personal and Bush is such a small person that everything seems to be personal. The psychology of the guy who can never meet his father's expectation, never win his father's approval, is always a disappointment and goes astray to get his dad's attention all seem to be at work here.
