Are you saying, then, that D.C. retains an "aura" about it that once "cleared" a person can work without fear, and than any and all subsequent crimes will go unpunished?

I live close to D.C., but (for reasons I choose not to go into) do not wish to mingle with said political denizens, even though the opportunity presents itself often, and from the "wrong side" of the aisle, sad to say.

I tend to agree with the DeLay comment from a pragmatic standpoint, but part of me still believes that a crooked bastard - at some point - will be proven to be a crooked bastard.
