...of WWII in the Pacific Theater. Torpedo bombers and dive bombers had the highest mortality rate because they had to close with the enemy ships through a ton of flak to release their weapons. The early training was not all that good, and the Naval aircraft used at that time wasn't very good either.

Having written all of that, the big question in my mind has to do with whether or not Poppy actually had another job during WWII. OSS comes to my mind almost immediately.
