6. Allergies are environmental
If you take medication yet continue to be exposed, you will still go through the exposure, adaptation, exhaustion cycle. When exhausted the symptoms become the worst.

Therefore, you must isolate yourself from the allergens as much as possible to allow the body a place of rest. Air conditioning is often beneficial, especially when filters are clean. Electronic air cleaners work too. It may be necessary to completely remove as much carpets and fabrics from the home as possible. Curtains and rugs which collect allergens should be cleaned and maybe discarded. Hard surfaced floors easily cleaned are best. Take off shoes when you come into the home. Keep pets outside. Our pets have three places to live and play. Outside in the yard, outside in the enclosed porch, and sleep in the garage. They are perfectly happy with it.

Exercise is a good way to fight allergies also as it strenthens the general stress response and allows longer exposures to some levels before the exhaustion phase of discomfort sets in.

I'm not a doctor, I'll learned this with a doctor's advice while trying to cope with a serious allergy problem that both my daughter and I have.
