5. I agree
I live in a rural area. I live close enough to work that I could possibly walk or ride a bike, although it is less safe, especially with the daylight hours getting shorter. Many of my coworkers are driving twenty miles or more though (including my best friend who drives around 40 miles living in one of the highest unemployed county in Wisconsin) because good jobs are not especially dense (Their spouse might work twenty miles away in the other direction) and it is cheaper to live in the middle of no where than in town. If you lose your good job and to get another good one you have a long commute, it is still cheaper not to move, especially since some of the workers at my plant are basically living paycheck to paycheck.
