Well, it isn't an option for everyone, not everyone has to do it for gas prices to drop.

You mentioned that no one is serious about mass transport and bike trails. Well, if the cost of gas were to get silly expensive, then they would. It would be awful for the poor who have to drive to work, but I think long term it would benefit them.

If people were to use their bikes or mass transport, the money would be there for it. And due to supply and demand, the gas prices would fall for the poor workers.
