It's a necessary part of life, and while I don't enjoy killing, I do occasionally slaughter an animal for the freezer. I do not hunt for sport. Humans are omnivorous heterotrophs, so killing plants and animals is a necessary aspect of life.
I do occasionally point out to vegetarians who get self rightous about it that at least meat-eaters usually kill their food before cooking or eating it. Most vegies are alive up until the moment you pop them into the pot or your mouth....
