I need some examples of liberal good vs conservative bad.

I'm sort of arguing with some Freeperesque Eagles fans and I'd like to have a few more examples of what liberals have brought to the table here in the United States. I have some good con stuff but feel free to suggest or correct anything if you'd like.

Here's what I have so far.

It's funny to hear people use the word liberal as if it's something bad to be. Yeah it sure is terrible to have weekends off, to work for a living wage, to have worker's comp when you get hurt, to have equal rights regardless of race, religion, sex or sexual orientation (a work in progress), to fight for clean water and air and to want better education. Just to name a few.

You have to thank the liberals for even having this country. The conservatives of the revolutionary times backed King George (sound familiar?) not the freedom fighters. Today they would be calling Washington and Jefferson terrorists. The conservatives backed the genocide of the American Indian in the west. The conservatives backed slavery during the civil war. The conservatives were against women having the right to vote in the 1910's but were for prohibition. The conservatives were against the Labor Movement of the 30's. The conservatives were against the civil rights movement of the 60's but were for Vietnam. Today they are for corporate fascism, war and theocratic rule and against their own economic interests and The Constitution. Every bit of progress that has been made in this country has been due to liberal, progressive thinking. I'm hard pressed to find one instance where the Cons were on the side of right and goodness instead of greed and hatred.

Any help is appreciated.
