47. Funny story about that song
Terry Jacks never intended to release it. Then one day his paperboy came over to collect on Jacks' monthly subscription while Jacks was listening to a demo at his house. The paperboy thought the song was great, then had all his friends come over to listen to it. Jacks was so inspired by this that he finished the song (with the help of the immortal guitarist Link Wray) and he released it. It was a huge hit--even making the top ten songs of 1974, if I'm not mistaken.

So blame that one on the paperboy.
