My parents say I was heavy into Dinah Shore as a youngster, but what I remember is: Loretta Young swooping down the stairway to introduce her eponymous TV show, and the sexiness of Carol Channing's voice in just about anything she did, but chiefly "Archy and Mehitabel."

Later I was into Diana Rigg and Grace Slick. Now I think I'd walk on a bed of hot coals for Susan Sarandon.

On edit: I should mention that I think older women rock, or at least have the potential to do so. Mrs. Squeech has 6 1/2 years on me.
