i was in DC, staying with this kid for a night who worked for the same organization as me (though the DC chapter)...his roommate had set out a couple of those traps and we heard a squeaking...

i took him outside and it took a long time to get him off, finally he ran off but was so covered in the glue he couldn't move; just stuck in the grass

so i found a big rock and...well that's it

i figured it was better than just letting him sit there stuck in a bunch of grass...his entire belly was covered
