38. We have a gay cat, too |

He's a beautiful boy, and the breeder had bought him intending to use him in her lines, but when she tried to put him with females in heat, he cowered in the corner in terror. None of the females got any different reaction from him. She finally did the humane thing, had him neutered, and let us adopt him (at great financial loss to herself, I might add). He's our little hairdresser - he'll sit and groom our eyebrows or hair for hours. He'd like to groom the other cats, but the other male thinks he wants to wrestle and throws him to the ground, and the female is a homophobe and treats him like a wino sitting on her Mercedes. He's a sweet, silly boy.
My husband used to know a couple who had a dog and cat who were interspecies homosexuals. It was a little poodle and a Siamese, both fixed males, and deeply in love with one another. The poodle humped the Siamese more or less continuously, while the Siamese would hunker down, butt in the air, tail to the side, purring like a mad bastard. It got so embarrassing that the couple tried giving the cat away, and both animals pined until they began to fear for their health and reunited them. They humped happily away for the rest of their days and died within a couple weeks of one another.
