When I read that a sixty-something-year-old man is wearing a Vietnam-type t-shirt and baseball cap, I ask myself what's missing and what is he trying to replace?

There's always a deepseated pathology there that inevitably has nothing to do with Vietnam but everything to do with the individual's perception of himself. There is always a sad story, and, yes, counselling - outside of the dreadfully destructive "self-help" groups of veterans from long ago - would make their lives easier, I believe.
