39. not quite John. It ranks 15 on the size list
it's population of the City itself is 711,000, but it is a large city, 210 sq miles

Baltimore has 636,000 and is only about 80 sq miles. DC is 572,000 and is 63 sq miles.

New York is 8,008,000 (by far the largest---larger than your home state of Virginia!!!) and 320 sq miles
