Although I have a couple of other teams, I have stayed with the Bengals through many dark years as well as the two most competitive Super Bowls of the 80's.
I was in high school in Cincinnati during the Bengals' first year. They played in the University of Cincinnati stadium, which was in a deep valley surrounded by the campus on all sides. People would crowd around the chain link fence and climb up on buildings to look down at the game. I saw Bob Trumpy catch an 80-yard pass against Oakland to give the Bengals one of their then-record 3 expansion-year wins.
The difference has been with Paul Brown vs. his son. But I do think they are beginning to turn around under Marv Lewis.
