I was thinking of Bentson latter in his career. I never had the pleasure of meeting Senator Yarborough but my admiration for him was enormous. One Texan from that period I did get a chance to meet was Sissy Fahrentholt (my spelling is atrocious). She was, I believe Texas state party chair/gubernatorial candidate in the late '60's, early '70's. She was featured speaker at a political forum my freshman year.

I can't believe the irony of the first two names I listed. I was trying to think of things no one had mentioned earlier in the thread, and picked two mortal enemies! Thanks for reminding me of yet another piece of history that had drifted away from me! :thumbsup:
