Not expensive, I'm guessing around $20, It fits into one of the slots on the motherboard. Open the case, look for the the slots on the board, there should be three of them. Plug the card into one of them and the end of the card where the ethernet cable plugs in is available on the back of the computer when you put the case back on.
Re-start the machine and Windows plug-n-play will recognize that a new piece of hardware has been added. Go through the steps and it should install it with no problem if you are using Win XP. If Windows has problems use the manufacturers CD. You can also use a
USB ethernet. That will be a lot easier to deal with but you may pay more. The USB ethernet just plugs into one of the USB slots while the PC is on. Repeat the above procedure and you should be successful.
