15. My wash machine repair
Edited on Sat Oct-22-05 02:12 PM by CC
man told me a long time ago to use half of the recommended amount of detergent for regular detergents and 1/4 for concentrated if you want your washer to last longer. He said that was more than enough to get clothes clean and the absolute worse thing for a wash machine is suds. He showed me the suds marks on the washer and said less cleans better, leaves less residue and keeps from wearing out the washer. I listened and the 20 year plus old washer is still going strong. He also suggested that baby socks be placed in a hosiery bag to wash. The repair was to remove a baby sock that went through and jammed up the washer. (Yes washers do eat socks) Oh and he didn't charge for fixing it.
