we beat Hillary. What Edwards said in the speech afterwards is true...change won, the status quo lost. While I'm clearly not an Obama supporter, I think he's a far, far cry from being the corporatist that Hillary is.
Also, it's not over. Edwards is still fighting. The discourse has changed. The media can no longer get away with their "Clinton! Obama! Clinton! Obama!" mantra. The top two are Obama and Edwards...which makes it a hell of a lot harder for them to marginalize Edwards.
Of course the results weren't exactly what we Edwards supporters wanted. But 2nd place isn't the end of the world and we learned a lot from the voter breakdown. If any top-tier candidate should be worried today, it's not Edwards. It's Clinton. The presumed/assumed nominee came in THIRD. That's cause for concern, second isn't.
