77. I like the practical problem-solving engineer type!
My honey went through my house, turned all the breakers off and on, one by one, and made a color coded diagram of all the rooms in my house, showing each outlet and light in a numbered room, each room drawn in a different color.

I proudly took this diagram, stuck it under Dad's nose, and said "Can you tell an electrical engineer is here?"

I was so impressed that he gave a damn enough about me to do that!

My ex didn't do anything to fix up the house or figure out how it works and what doesn't work, and fix it if possible!! He let everything go to hell. He ruined my carport by inserting pieces of pipe to raise it so he could get his van under it, ignoring the stress it put on the edge that was attached to the garage. It made the rainwater flow towards the garage, rotting the eaves and stressing them. My ex strung a phone line down the hall over my head and just draped it over the hall lights! He moved the phone from the bedroom because he didn't want me to be able to answer the phone while I was in bed....because he thought I was "lazy".

I have a problem with yuppies who are so clueless about manual skills that they can barely wipe their own arsen. Like the women who say they don't know how to jump a car battery, and don't intend to find out. So I say "Oh, so you enjoy standing by the side of the road for hours, waiting for a wrecker?" This goes for checking the air in the tires, checking the oil and water and washer fluid too. Or cooking, or sewing, or loading a dishwasher, or doing laundry, or balancing a checkbook.
