71. I wish the best for Flash and you
:grouphug:

When we had money and a different set of cats 3 with an additional cat we adopted when our best friend died all of them developed renal failure. My vet at the time told us this is very common among cats. We told us it was the ingredients in the commercial cat food, and there is way too much protein in it that cats have a hard time processing it later in life.

It's a painful experience for both parties involved, believe me. I have there. Electra, we had put to sleep and got to be with her till she went to sleep. Electra I rescued as a kitten from a for sure boomed death on the highway. She had many talents. She loved to climb on my shoulders and rub my head and give me kisses. Electra was a Maine Coon.

Astra, eventually died at home on her own. We found Astra after a heavy rainstorm, she was probably only five weeks old. We were at the park eating lunch. When we heard her we knew she was one of our past kitties ((( long story, but VERY interesting ))). We brought her home and she lived with us for 16 years. She was my little baby, and I got to experience the excitement of being a Cosmic Mid Wife. Good thing I was here for that, the first one was a breach kitty and didn't have a sac. He scratched and clawed his way out of momma. The other two kitties came out just fine, although Astra didn't know what to do and I had to remove the sacs for her. She was very confused about what was happening to her. I had just returned home from taking our three male cats to get neutered. Of the three males (one died, one when to live with our friend when he moved out) Simba stayed with us. Astra was a Calico tabby.

Simba one we took to the vet ( the one mentioned above ) and he was so dehydrated that the vet would not administer the shot in front of us. I felt so bad for Simba, he was also a kitten when we found him. We took him in after finding him in the middle of the street late at night on our way home from friends. He was a Russian Blue, very hip and kewl cat. He could play a mean synthesizer.

As you can tell I am a cat lady. Right now I have two house cats Sateeva and Kilala. Just tamed three little kitties Inyusha, Kagome, and Sango that were born in my backyard. They are the sweetest little kitties in the world.

I didn't want to distract you from your troubles or maybe I do. Just to remind you that the everyday love you shared with Flash will always be a part of you as long as you live. Our memories of all the fun we share with our loved ones still brings comfort in times when we need them most. Also remember that Flash knows and shares those memories as well.

I think of ALL my babies ALL the time. I'm glad I had the pleasure to provide them with a loving home. I think everyone of them knew how fortunate they were to find us. We weren't looking for any cats, but ALL our cats came looking for us.

Please don't blame yourself or your family. Times are hard and some people have a hard time wanting to spend money for pet care.

I'm living on credit cards, so, no vet care for any of my new babies. Except to get them fixed, one down two to go.

GIC, I will keep you and Falsh in my thoughts.
