I lost a dear, old fur-friend yesterday. Isis

Her back legs went out suddenly. Vet said she had thrown a clot and there wasn't much he could do.


She found us about ten years ago and was an adult then. I have no idea how old she was.

She was very protective and vigilant. Which isn't something I've seen in many cats. If one of the kids would yelp in distress she would come charging sideways with her fur up.

I'd also seen her run toward other sounds of distress whether it was a screaming kid, cat or pup. I'm not sure I saw a cat do that before.

She loved to exchange headbutts, and to sleep nestled up against somebody. She also liked to put her back paw pads against bare feet or ankles.

Goodbye sweet one.
