Last portrait of my father

One of the last requests my father made of me was to drive him and mom on a road trip to Yellowstone Park- he wanted to see Old Faithful before he passed on, and as I was not working at the time we all decided to take advantage of it and simply go.

This picture was taken at a tourist stop somewhere along the route (I have no memory of where it was)- the figure in the background was named the Booming Prairie Chicken. I snapped a few poses of father in front of it. As fate would have it this was the last clear picture I ever took of him. My mother passed the following year, and although father lasted another four years I had moved on to Texas, and I never had the opportunity to go back home to see him again.
