I used to live in Chicago's far NW burbs, away from Lake Michigan and the 'heat island effect,' and while it wasn't always -30, we did get wind chills like that every now and then, and I enjoyed it, esp. with snow on the ground.;-)

I also lived in Phoenix, 40-45 degrees Celsius summers. Having experienced both extremes, I must say I loooooooooooove the cold. I plan on moving to Anchorage after college.

Edit: For those of you who aren't Canadians, 40-45 Celsius=104-113 Fahrenheit. Sometimes it'll go down to around 100; occasionally, it'll break 120.
