It would be hard for him to do both.. you would need to lean a little to the right for the North Carolina Vote,(Jesse Helms country) for the national vote you need to go left.

Edwards, knows what he is doing, with the economy being as it is in North Carolina, even the old redneck Helms, vote may go left this time, new people moving into the state, and college kids failing to find jobs...the new democrat candidate will have one of the best changes to beat a republican in this comming election.
