Has our luck finally changed in regards to Supreme Court appointments

Barring an unusual midterm retirement George Bush will become only the second President to serve four years and not get to name a Supreme Court Justice since the Court expanded to nine members in the 1800's. Only Carter has that distiction now. Democrats have had extremely bad luck in this regard for many years. From January 20, 1977 until January 20, 2001 Democrats and Republicans have been President for twelve years each. Yet of the 7 Supreme Court appointments during those years 5 were by Republican Presidents and only 2 by Democrats. The current court is 7 to 2 due to the other appointees being by Nixon and by Ford.

This is the only good luck we have really had in regards to this issue and many others as of late. That is why I am ABB and implore others to be that way too. We can't throw this opportunity away. God is doing for us what we didn't do for ourselves in 2000. I don't think we can count on that again if we mess up now.
