7. Arafat shrugs off assassination threats
http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/spages/411795.html

<snip>

"Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat on Saturday brushed aside threats by Israeli leaders that he might become a target for assassination.

"For me, I don't care," Arafat told reporters at his West Bank headquarters in Ramallah. "I care only for my people."

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon made his most explicit threat yet against Arafat in an interview published in Haaretz on Friday, calling him a poor insurance risk.

Jordan said on Saturday any Israeli attempt to harm Arafat would be a crime with unpredictable consequences."
