Palestinian Gunman Kills Israeli Settler, Wounds Teenage Girl

A Palestinian gunman broke into a Jewish settlement in the West Bank on Saturday, killing an Israeli man and wounding his teenage daughter. Israeli troops shot and killed the attacker, as soldiers launched raids into other parts of the territory, arresting more than 20 wanted Palestinians.
A Palestinian gunman, armed with an automatic rifle, entered the Jewish settlement of Avnei Hefetz in the West Bank through a hole in the community's security fence.
He approached a house and opened fire at close range through the windows and the door, wounding a teenage girl.
When the girl's father emerged from the house, he was shot dead.
Israeli forces, stationed to protect the settlement close to the West Bank town of Tulkarem, then shot and killed the attacker.
Israeli troops later entered Tulkarem from several directions and surrounded houses where other armed Palestinians were suspected to be hiding.
Palestinian gunmen frequently target isolated Jewish settlements on the Jewish Sabbath, when more residents are at home.
