This flies in the face of the fact that Judge Greer is a Republican and a Southern Baptist and that the federal courts resisted Republican attempts to do an end run around federalism.

But I have heard and read many comments defending federalism and the integrity of the judiciary's role -- even from quite a few Republican commentators.
