And who knows what it is, or who is involved. But this isn't just a simple "growing apart." Most politicians do the European thing in that case, if neither cares, they just carry on smartly (more so if there are kids involved).

Look at Jeb and Columba--she spends more time in Mexico City than she does in FL. She can barely speak english anymore, she learned it late and never uses it. But hey, Catholic, letting it ride, living quietly apart, she shows up when needed for big events, does her own thing when not. Accomodation...it happens all the time.

SOMETHING is driving this train, and I doubt it is as simple as it appears.

But I do think he is marginalized, and most likely by choice. If the couple are such great friends still, she'd play the game just to help a good friend out if he was serious about going for the brass ring. A decision was made, and it was deliberate. We'll just have to stay tuned.

Russ is one wife shy of Newt, so what the hey...
