8. The 'seeming more moderate' comment is what scares me...
What disturbs me is the comment between the ***s below (not sure yet how to bold, will figure it out in due time)

"Bush is trying to get more support generally from the American public by *****seeming more moderate****** and showing he's a strong leader at the same time he has a rebellion within his own party," Thurber said. "The far right is starting to be very open about their claim that he's not a real conservative."

This language jumped out at me... Is bush trying to 'seem more moderate' with Miers? Is she really a stealth anti-abortion, fundie, gun loving SCOTUS nominee? No record so no opportunity to filibuster? Dobson's signaling today (I know more than you about her blah blah blah and she's OK) makes me very very nervous...

I am typically not a tinfoiler but something smells here.
