NEW YORK Turnout and excitement in the early 2008 races has been mainly on the Democrats' side, with President Bush's approval ratings still low and Republicans, too, running on "change." A blowout coming for the Democratic nominee in November? Not so fast.
A new CNN/OPINION RESEARCH poll of 1,033 adults, conducted January 9-10, finds Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama barely beating John McCain.
Clinton takes it 50-48 and Obama 49-48, within the 3.5% margin of error.
Other GOP candidates, however, do less well in the matchups, all trailing by double digits.
