Many in the Democratic base have said for months they will not vote for Hillary. I think Hillary is betting at the last minute, those Dems will come home. Some might, many will not.
Many Republicans now do not want to rally around Mitt. Will they sacrifice the reluctance they have now (and okay, I will say it although it's distasteful -- will the evangelicals put aside their religious prejudice and vote for a Mormon) in order to defeat a Clinton?
In 2008, will passion for party trump personal contempt for the party candidate in order to effectuate a win? I believe that is the question that will be in play, and I do not pretend to know the answer. I do think that question is one Bloomberg is now weighing and HIS OPINION on the answer to that question might possibly prompt him to wade into the political waters in February.
