Are you afraid of the fight? |
|
As a Hillary supporter, I expect a fight. If she's the nominee, I expect all the old playbooks will be dusted off and all the old talking points, which came to naught but a consensual blowjob, will be rallied around. But she's been vetted, for eight years and more but she's held her own and gained the respect of many Republicans in Congress and in her state. Her longtime record of public service is bedrock. She's a centrist Democrat and so is Obama. His votes are rarely different than any of the centrists in Congress. He knew he was going to run prior to running for the Senate and he's played his cards safely these two years.
He was anti-war, but not at Senator at the time of the vote to authorize force after diplomacy. I think lots of his supporters would be surprised to hear that.
He's not progressive and he doesn't talk about removing troops now from Iraq or Afghanistan. He's agreed with Bush policies and he's voted to keep the war funded.
He's got real problems with his deals and ties to Tony Rezko and people haven't woken up to that yet, but Republicans will wake them up with that and more. You think the "Obama, Osama, Hussein" thing will be the worst?
If your stomach churns at the thought of the Republican talking points against Hillary, buy a large bottle of Tums, put your gloves on and get in the ring coz the fight won't be for wusses. It will be for real Democrats.
