17. Correction concerning her Republican opponent |
|
Jeanine Pirro announced that she would seek the Republican nomination for Senate. After her campaign fared poorly, however, she dropped out and switched to running (unsuccessfully) for Attorney General. Clinton's opponent (the winner of a contested Republican primary) was , a former mayor of Yonkers.
Spencer wasn't exactly "unknown", as you allege. He had achieved a certain level of distinction even by the rigorous standards of the Culture of Corruption Party: He not only had an adulterous affair while serving as mayor, but he put his paramour on the city payroll. At least Vitter paid for his hookers with his own money.
