29. Let me clue you in, OK?
I am a white female and I practiced law for a long time ~~ now retired ~~ and I did a hell of a lot of child custody battles. One day, sitting in the hallway waiting for a hearing on a case wherein I represented a black dad who was divorced from a white mom and they were in the midst of a major disagreement over their half black and half white child, the sister of my client said something to me that has stuck with me over many years.

The sister who is black like her brother ~~ with a black mom and black dad ~~ said to me that to blacks, if a child has just a bit of black blood, that is a black child...and she went on to say, that to whites if a child has a bit of black blood, that child is also a black child. And, ya know, I had to agree with her. I saw that child in that litigation as a black child and she, the sister, also saw the child as a black child even tho the child had a white mom.

That is all I can tell you...but I sure as hell have every time I have seen a mixed race child of black and white found that the vast majority of people consider the child black ~~ not half black ~~ but black. I have no clue why, but this is what I have seen and it is NOTHING unique to Obama and his parentage.
