then that means Obama hasn't gotten enough support in states like Ohio and Pennsylvania which it will be crucial for the Democrats to win in November. He should do very well in favorable states in the next month, and he just has to avoid getting trounced in Ohio and Pennsylvania to have a Puerto Rico-proof lead in pledged delegates.

So yes, it would be very odd to have a non-state deciding our nominee, and also annoying to know that Hispanics seems so unwilling to back Obama, but it's Obama's job to convince enough Ohio and Pennsylvania residents to support him so that won't be an issue.
