28. I was afraid to post my story before the actual votes were in! (Just superstitious!) |

I just didn't want to jinx anything! Anyway, I live in a very conservative county outside Madison. Our state reps are all Republican (yuck!) The only rep I'm proud of is Tammy Baldwin--but it takes Madison for a Democrat to win around these parts (and fortunately I'm in Tammy's congressional district). Anyway, my daughter was asked to participate in a straw poll by her HS Government Class. She spent 60 minutes outside the local grocery store last Saturday and surveyed 30 random people. Of these--18 were for Obama, 4 for Hilary, 1 for McCain, and 1 for Huckabee and 6 were undecided or refused to participate in the survey.
There's a movement going on here, guys! The huge Obama edge is noteworthy. He crosses lines and gathers in the most diverse group of people possible--liberals and conservatives! Go figure! I truly think he's a force to be reckoned with--people from all walks of life and all beliefs are supporting him.
These were honest answers and political party affiliation was never asked--but believe me, the vast majority of voters in my neck of the woods are Republican.
The voters are choosing Bareck because they want him to be our leader--not because he's a pawn in the grand scheme to thwart Democratic voter hopes and install McCain as an after thought!
Just my two cents!
